El Cantador is a rock band from Mobile, AL. Since 2007 the band has toured, released three EPs, a full-length, two music videos, and played music festivals including Next Big Nashville (2009) and The Hangout Beach, Music and Art Festival (2010). In December of 2010, Heath, Sean, and Alex rented a house near the beach, set-up a studio, and recorded tracks for their first full-length album Fools For Light. The band is currently tracking new songs in Ocean Springs, MS for an album/EP to be released late 2012/2013.

HOTEL WAR with JAG @ Hey Joe’sFriday, September 14 Hotel War is not a revisionist group, not a cover band, not concerned with what’s trending, and does not think rock ‘n roll needs anyone’s help to stay alive. Hotel War is an original rock ‘n roll group of 2012 whose fiery brand of songs are adventurous, hard-hitting, to the point, and every song a potential hit single.The trio consists of Justin Nash, Curt Apwisch, and Brandon Fisher. Justin, the guitarist, plays with a fervor and flare all his own. His indelible riffs stick with you long after the show is over. Curt, the lead singer, is a furious charmer and a bulldog of a crooner digging his boot heels in to the stage like he’s trying to drive in a railroad tie. Brandon, the drummer and acknowledged pretty one in the group, tattoos the skins with a heart thumping rhythm that completes the group’s throbbing sound. Hotel War’s rumbling beauty is created by a group of friends out of Nashville. All three members hail from Dayton, Ohio where kids who grew up there either became musicians, degenerates, or gamblers. Hotel War are a little of each. Their sound is not unlike a back alley beating.
